a lifestyle involving activity mainly during the night, especially for Astronist religious reasons, practitioners of which are called nocts.

ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY
Astro-English: from Astronese, the prefix noct-, denoting nighttime, combined with the suffix -ism denoting a belief; meaning ‘belief in or devotion to the night.’ The term finds its origins during the Founding era by way of one of Cometan’s indrucies.
