ORIGINS AND ETYMOLOGY
Astro-English: from Astronese, the word isolism is based on the word isolation which denotes “a situation in which something is far apart from others” and which when conjoined to the suffix -ism comes to denote “the assertion that extraterrestrial life exists but as such a rarity that humanity will not survive for long enough either to find such life let alone to come into physical contact with it.”
