Astro-English: from Astronese, the prefix exo- denotes that which comes from “outside” or “from beyond” in order to mean extraterrestrial life and the use of the suffix -ic comes to form the adjective; coupling this adjective with the word contact results in the meaning “to successfully communicate with or to come into physical proximity to extraterrestrial life.”
